Posh Aesthetics + Wellness

As a nurse practitioner working in a rural health clinic, I quickly recognized the need for preventative healthcare services. The limitations of the traditional insurance-based healthcare model led me to expand my practice, and Posh Aesthetics + Wellness was established on February 6, 2023. The business grew organically, and within one year, we outgrew our original space inside the Aspermont Clinic.

After careful consideration, my husband and I decided to take a leap of faith and open a location in our hometown of Hamlin. I reached out to the Hamlin Municipal Development District, which provided a small business loan that played a vital role in supporting our growth.

In 2025, we purchased our building and were proud to add two local employees to our team. Alyssa Woolf is our LVN and office manager, and Braelyn Smith is our RN, offering extended hours for IV therapy. Posh Aesthetics + Wellness is located at 443 S. Central Avenue and is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with additional availability by appointment.

Our services include IV therapy, vitamin injections, pain relief injections, medical weight loss, hormone replacement therapy, testosterone therapy, and a wide range of aesthetic services. These include Botox, dermal fillers, injectable PRP, microneedling, chemical peels, and two medical-grade skincare lines.

We are deeply grateful for the support of the Hamlin Municipal Development District, the Hamlin Chamber of Commerce, and the residents of Hamlin and the surrounding communities who have made this growth and success possible.

Honey’s Gift & design

My name is Ashlyn Kiser, and when my family and I moved to Hamlin, I knew I wanted to build something of my own—something rooted in community. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to be part of this town in a meaningful way, and owning my own shop had always been a dream of mine.

Honey’s is a locally owned gift shop built on small-town charm, thoughtful details, and a whole lot of heart. The name Honey holds a special place in my life—it’s what my son calls my mother. Naming the shop Honey’s was my way of bringing a piece of my mom, and the love she represents, with us to Hamlin.

At Honey’s, you’ll find a carefully curated selection of gifts, home décor, apparel, seasonal finds, and sweet little extras you didn’t know you needed—until you do. Each item is chosen with intention, whether you’re shopping for a special occasion, celebrating a milestone, or simply treating yourself.

More than just a shop, Honey’s is a place to gather, support local, and celebrate the joy found in everyday moments. I am incredibly grateful to the Hamlin MDD for believing in my vision and supporting my dream. Their encouragement made it possible to turn an idea into a reality, and I am honored to be part of such a supportive and welcoming community.

Hamlin Mesquite Products

n August of 2016, Joe and Cinda Shuping opened Shuping Custom Mix.  This business was centered around the production of cattle feed, using both the locally grown commodities and the shipped in by-products from across the nation.  Using corn gluten, soy hull pellets, ddg, local milo and other ag products, Joe made cattle feed for both his own personal use and to sell to the community. The infrastructure and capital investment for a business of that nature is significant.  Building facilities for the storage of the ingredients alone would have been financially prohibitive.  Along with needing to house the ingredients, Joe needed a place to produce the end-product.It was at that time that he approached the Hamlin MDD about renting a couple of buildings at the cottonseed compress facilities on the northeast side of town.  After several discussions and meetings, the Hamlin MDD decided to allow him to rent one building and they arranged a rent-to-own agreement on the other building.  This got the ball rolling.

Joe and Cinda grew the business and ultimately transitioned fully from feed production to producing pellets for barbecue grills.  Their success in that industry was slow in the beginning as the pellet grills had not quite caught on.  In 2018, they got their first contract with United Supermarkets and the rest, as they say, is history. As the business grew, it became increasingly more difficult for the two of them to handle the production and bookkeeping.  In the fall of 2020, Shuping Custom Mix sold their assets to Hamlin Mesquite Products, and a partnership was born between the Shupings and two of their children.  Hamlin Mesquite Products purchased the building that was formerly a part of the rent-to-own agreement with the Hamlin MDD.  They continue to rent the second building which is an integral part of their business by providing a place to dry their wood as it is being prepared to pellet. Mr. Shuping says it has been a great experience to work with the Hamlin MDD over the nearly 10 years he has been doing business with them.  They are always willing to discuss anything that comes up.  Hamlin is lucky to have an organization like the Hamlin MDD that is so excited to see Hamlin grow and improve.  He hopes one of his grandkids will run the business when it’s time for him to turn it over to the next generation.  No doubt Hamlin MDD will be just as excited to work with that generation as well!
