NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE
GOVERNING BODY OF
THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A REGULAR CALLED MEETING OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE ABOVE-NAMED CITY WILL BE HELD ON THE 15th DAY OF DECEMBER, 2025, AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE HAMLIN INDEPENDENT COLLEGIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 250 SW AVENUE F, HAMLIN, JONES COUNTY, TEXAS AT WHICH TIME THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS WILL BE DISCUSSED:
AGENDA
I. Call Meeting to order, Invocation and Pledges.
II. Roll Call
III. Open Forum-Person who sign in between 5:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. will be allowed not more than five minutes each to speak to the Council.
*General comments from visitors who have signed in to address the Council.
*Citizens Comments and Receipt of Petitions (At this time, anyone may speak on any matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation for a length of time not to exceed five (5) minutes. (No council/board discussion or action can take place on any matter until such matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with the law).
V. ACTION ITEMS
1. Take appropriate action on the minutes from the previous Regular Meeting on November 17, 2025.
2. Consider and take any necessary action on the following property; The sale of property Parcel ID# 26794, HAMLIN TOWNSITE HAMLIN BLOCK 87 LOT 4 & 5 to MDD.
3. Consider and take any necessary action on Ordinance No. 25-011; AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS, LEVYING A SEVEN PERCENT (7%) TAX UPON THE COST OF OCCUPANCY OF ANY SLEEPING ROOM FURNISHED BY ANY HOTEL, MOTEL OR OTHER OVERNIGHT LODGING WITHIN THE CITY OR ITS EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 351 OF THE TEXAS TAX CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE COLLECTION OF THE OCCUPANCY TAX; PROVIDING FOR CIVIL PENALITIES AND INTEREST FOR DELINQUENCY IN PAYING THE CITY OCCUPANCY TAX; PROVIDING FOR A FINE OF UP TO $500 FOR VIOLATING THIS ORDINANCE AND FOR OTHER CIVIL REMEDIES; DESIGNATING THE USE OF THE REVENUE DERIVED TO THE CITY FROM THE OCCUPANCY TAX; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT OR IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING A TEXAS OPEN MEETINGS ACT CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE AFTER PUBLICATION.
4. Consider and take any necessary action on entering into a general services agreement with EHT engineering.
5. Consider and take any necessary action on selling/auctioning off the decommissioned tanker.
6. Consider and take any necessary action on the purchase of a twenty (20) or thirty (30) foot rail container for storage.
7. Consider and take any necessary action on a storage facility for the 1927 La France Fire Truck.
8. Discuss selling water to commercial sites and projects.

I, the undersigned authority, do certify that the above named notice Meeting of the Governing Body of the above named City of Hamlin is a true and correct copy of said Notice and that I posted a true and correct of said Notice on the bulletin board in the Police Department and on the front door of City Hall of said City of Hamlin, Texas, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public at all times and said Notice was posted on December 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM and remained posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said meeting.
