NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE

GOVERNING BODY OF

THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A REGULAR CALLED MEETING OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE ABOVE-NAMED CITY WILL BE HELD ON THE 19th of MAY 2025, AT 7:00 P.M. IN THE HAMLIN INDEPENDENT COLLEGIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 250 S W AVENUE F, HAMLIN, JONES COUNTY, TEXAS AT WHICH TIME THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS WILL BE DISCUSSED:

Call Meeting to order, Invocation and Pledges.

Roll Call

III. Open Forum-Person who sign in between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM will be allowed not   

        more than five minutes each to speak to the Council.

               *General comments from visitors who have signed up to address the Council.

V.  ACTION ITEMS

1.      Take appropriate action on the minutes from the previous Regular Meeting on April 21, 2025.

2.       Consider and take any necessary action on RESOLUTION NO. 25-002.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 3, 2025.

3.      Consider and take any necessary action on RESOLUTION NO. 25-003.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION FOR THE OFFICES OF THREE COUNCILMEMBERS AT LARGE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

4.      Recognition of the Outgoing Councilmembers.

5.      Administer the Oath of Office to Councilmembers Elected – Brooke Houghton, Phyllis Lewis, Ronald Crouch, and Caleb Grabriel.

6.      Consider and take any necessary action on the updated Employee Policy Handbook.

7.      Discuss and consider authorizing the City Administrator to begin the procurement process for professional services related to a Resilient Communities Program grant.

 I, the undersigned authority, do certify that the above named notice Meeting of the Governing          Body of the above named City of Hamlin is a true and correct copy of said Notice and that I posted a true and correct said Notice on the bulletin board in the Police Department and on the front door of City Hall of said City of Hamlin, Texas, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public at all times and said Notice was posted on May 15, 2025, at 4:00 PM and remained posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said meeting.
