NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE
GOVERNING BODY OF
THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A REGULAR CALLED MEETING OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE ABOVE-NAMED CITY WILL BE HELD ON THE 17th DAY OF AUGUST, 2026, AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE HAMLIN COLLEGIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT PIPER CENTER, 250 SW AVE F, HAMLIN, JONES COUNTY, TEXAS AT WHICH TIME THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS WILL BE DISCUSSED:
AGENDA
I. Call Meeting to order, Invocation and Pledges.
II. Roll Call
III. Open Forum-Person who sign in between 5:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. will be allowed not more than five minutes each to speak to the Council.
*General comments from visitors who have signed in to address the Council.
*Citizens Comments and Receipt of Petitions (At this time, anyone may speak on any matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation for a length of time not to exceed five (5) minutes. (No council/board discussion or action can take place on any matter until such matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with the law).
IV. ACTION ITEMS
1. Take appropriate action on the minutes from the previous Special Meeting on August 11, 2026.
2. Consider and take any necessary action on the open council seat.
3. MDD update and report.
4. Consider and take any necessary action regarding hiring Zac Tax as a remote finance officer.
5. Consider and take any necessary action on allowing a variance or amending ordinance regarding how many dogs you are allowed in the city.
6. Consider and take any necessary action on new policy for the convenience station.
7. Consider and take any necessary action on moving the city’s investment money from TexStar to Logic.
8. Budget Workshop
9. Consider and take any necessary action on setting a proposed tax rate.

I, the undersigned authority, do certify that the above named notice Meeting of the Governing Body of the above named City of Hamlin is a true and correct copy of said Notice and that I posted a true and correct of said Notice on the bulletin board in the Police Department and on the front door of City Hall of said City of Hamlin, Texas, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public at all times and said Notice was posted on August 11, 2026, at 4:00 PM and remained posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said meeting.
