  NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE

GOVERNING BODY OF

THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS

 

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A REGULAR CALLED MEETING OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE ABOVE-NAMED CITY WILL BE HELD ON THE 21st DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2026, AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE HAMLIN COLLEGIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT PIPER CENTER, 250 SW AVE F, HAMLIN, JONES COUNTY, TEXAS AT WHICH TIME THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS WILL BE DISCUSSED:

 

AGENDA

 

 

I. Call Meeting to order, Invocation and Pledges.

 

II. Roll Call

 

III. Open Forum-Person who sign in between 5:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. will be allowed not more than five minutes each to speak to the Council.

*General comments from visitors who have signed in to address the Council.

*Citizens Comments and Receipt of Petitions (At this time, anyone may speak on any matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation for a length of time not to exceed five (5) minutes.  (No council/board discussion or action can take place on any matter until such matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with the law).

 

IV.  ACTION ITEMS

 

1.      Discuss comprehensive plan grant with Public Management.

 

2.      Consider and take any necessary action on adopting Ordinance No. 26-005.  AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 2 “ANIMAL CONTROL”, ARTICLE 2.01, “GENERAL PROVISIONS”, BY INCLUDING CRITERIA FOR A CITIZEN TO OBTAIN A VARIANCE FROM CERTAIN PROVISION OF THE CITY’S ANIMAL CONTROL REGULATIONS; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

3.      Consider and take any necessary action on adopting Ordinance No. 26-006. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS, LEVYING A TAX RATE FOR AN AD VALOREM TAX RATE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026-2027 TO PROVIDE REVENUES FOR CURRENT EXPENSES; PROVIDING DUE AND DELIQUENT DATES, PENALTIES AND INTEREST; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; DIRECTING THE TAX ASSESSOR-COLLECTOR TO ASSESS, ACCOUNT FOR, AND DISTRIBUTE THE PROPERTY TAXES AS HEREIN LEVIED.

 

4.      Consider and take any necessary action on 2026-2027 street projects.

 

5.      Consider and take any necessary action on amending the 2025-2026 budget.

 I, the undersigned authority, do certify that the above named notice Meeting of the Governing          Body of the above named City of Hamlin is a true and correct copy of said Notice and that I posted a true and correct of said Notice on the front door of the Police Department and on the front door of City Hall of said City of Hamlin, Texas, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public at all times and said Notice was posted on September 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM and remained posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said meeting.
