The Hamlin City Council met for a special meeting on March 24, 2026, at 6:00 P.M.
Those present were City Secretary Tonya Harughty, City Manager Brian Weaver, Councilwoman Shelby Teague, Gerald Rodgers, Police Officer Eric Becerra, Councilwoman Phyllis Lewis, Mayor Tucker Teague, Councilman Ronald Crouch, Councilman Caleb Gabriel, Councilwoman Brooke Houghton
Call meeting to order by Mayor Tucker Teague at 6:00 P.M. Invocation and pledge were led by Mayor Tucker Teague.
Roll call: Councilman Caleb Gabriel, Councilwoman Phyllis Lewis, Councilman Ronald Crouch, Mayor Tucker Teague, Councilwoman Shelby Teague, Councilwoman Brooke Houghton.
Open Forum-Person who sign in between 5:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. will be allowed not more than five minutes each to speak to the Council.
*General comments from visitors who have signed up to address the Council.
No one spoke to the Council.
Visitors with appointments: No one with an appointment
ACTION ITEMS
Consider and take any necessary action on review and approval of Annual Financial Report for fiscal year ended September 30, 2025, including audit results as presented by Gerald Rodgers, CPA from James E. Rodgers and Company PC.
Gerald Rodgers presented the Council with a packet containing the Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2025, which included the General Fund, Waterworks Fund, and Debt Services Fund.
Councilwoman Shelby Teague made a motion for approval of release and filing of the final financial report as presented by Gerald Rodgers, seconded by Councilman Caleb Gabriel. All in favor. Motion carries.
Consider and take any necessary action on purchasing new radios for the police department.
Councilman Caleb Gabriel made a motion to table this item until Brian has more information, seconded by Councilwoman Phyllis Lewis. All in favor. Motion carries.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
City Administrator – Brian Weaver stated we got $200,000.00 to do our twenty-year comprehensive plan. They are working on the additional paperwork for us to get started on that. Tonya is working on the reconciliation. You should be aware that we received an email from the Hamlin Herald saying we haven’t posted anything between January 2025 and January 2026. We have all our records of everything we posted and are one hundred percent in line with the code.

Councilman Caleb Gabriel made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 P.M., seconded by Councilman Ronald Crouch. All in favor. Motion carries.
