NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE
GOVERNING BODY OF
THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A REGULAR CALLED MEETING OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE ABOVE-NAMED CITY WILL BE HELD ON THE 18th DAY OF MAY, 2026, AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE HAMLIN INDEPENDENT COLLEGIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 250 SW AVENUE F, HAMLIN, JONES COUNTY, TEXAS AT WHICH TIME THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS WILL BE DISCUSSED:
AGENDA
I. Call Meeting to order, Invocation and Pledges.
II. Roll Call
III. Open Forum-Person who sign in between 5:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. will be allowed not more than five minutes each to speak to the Council.
*General comments from visitors who have signed in to address the Council.
*Citizens Comments and Receipt of Petitions (At this time, anyone may speak on any matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation for a length of time not to exceed five (5) minutes. (No council/board discussion or action can take place on any matter until such matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with the law).
V. ACTION ITEMS
1. Take appropriate action on the minutes from the previous Regular Meeting on April 20, 2026.
2. Consider and take any necessary action to adopt Resolution No. 26-004. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAMLIN, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION FOR THE OFFICES OF ONE (1) MAYOR AND TWO (2) COUNCILMEMBERS AT LARGE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
3. Recognition of Outgoing Mayor:

4. Recognition of Outgoing Councilmembers:
· Shelby Teague
· Caleb Gabriel
5. Administer the Oath of Office to Mayor-Elected – Tucker Teague
6. Administer the Oath of Office to Councilmembers Elected – Shelby Teague and Kenneth Williams.
7. Consider and take any necessary action on appointment of Mayor Pro-Tem.
8. Consider and take any necessary action on allowing Port-O-Fresh to resume dumping into the city sewer.
9. Discuss changing residential speed limits to 20 mph.
10. Consider and take any necessary action on hiring Nimbus Resilience Solutions to write a FEMA grant to update the cities weather sirens.
11. Consider and take any necessary action on encroachment agreement with Jones County Solar.
12. Consider and take any necessary action on fire truck grant.
13. Consider and take any necessary action on selling the city RV Park.
14. Consider and take any necessary action on adopting Resolution 26-005, A Resolution to authorize the Hamlin Police Department to enter into an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for the temporary closure of State right of way for the 2026 Homecoming Parade to be held on September 19, 2026, at 11:30 A.M.

I, the undersigned authority, do certify that the above named notice Meeting of the Governing Body of the above named City of Hamlin is a true and correct copy of said Notice and that I posted a true and correct of said Notice on the bulletin board in the Police Department and on the front door of City Hall of said City of Hamlin, Texas, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public at all times and said Notice was posted on May 12th, 2026, at 4:00 PM and remained posted continuously for at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of said meeting.
